Defined benefit pensions are ludicrous and shouldn't exist. Retirees should get paid based on how much money is in the system, not based on the rosy assumptions of 12% gains YoY compounding forever.
ROTH IRAs seem almost too good to be true. I think many people underestimate them and if you have more than 20 years until retirement it makes sense over a traditional IRA even if you are 40 and your marginal rate is high.
