as it should be. at my high school there was a bible class, and it was a public school, and it wasn't at all about why you should believe it but rather the writing, historical significance, etc. it's the most influential book in human history, to not teach it is wrong
because then you can ask questions like "what message is the bible trying to convey when god sends bears to maul to death 42 children because they mocked elijah's bald head?"
