because this is europe at the start date and i think it's fine for poland to be western tech. plus, poland was as advanced or more advanced than the rest of europe right up until the late 17th early 18th century.

oh, 1300? yeah i think that makes sense, considering the weaker position it's in (as it was divided until right after 1300) under the piasts. i think with the 1444 vanila start date if they are not eastern they could faceroll russia

oh a human player can crush russia no problem. the AI is another story.

and it's not really a mod yet, it's a few minor tweaks we made. not really worth playing at the moment.

it could be that the ai itself is programmed to care about provinces own culture own religion blah blah blah. ive seen something before that indicated as much (explaining the reason why an ai might turn hostile towards you, because they want some province you have)

i really hate how scripted vanilla is. one of the first things i plan on changing is removing AI attitudes so they're all equally as derpy and bloodthirsty. half the fun of eu3 was watching poland make a thin line of conquest from warsaw to samarkand, or watching england gobble up the ottoman empire.

also coalitions are getting removed.

i dont mind coallitions. what i do mind is the increase in coring cost/time based on your size. it shouldn't take more than a few years to core anything. size of your country should have nothing to do with it. only thing wrong with coalitions is that small nations can declare coalition wars. i think that's a bit crazy. it should be a larger nation that has to declare if they are involved.

nonaccepted cultures and nonaccepted religions should take longer, that's the only difference i think of

how you mean, scripted? i think it's fairly dynamic

certain countries are given certain attitude profiles to behave certain ways, and in some cases are scripted to follow a semi-historical path. most major countries have hidden sliders to further increase their ai profile. it's really dumb.
