Its less than a 1% difference anyways. Until a couple days ago the iphone was getting flattened by nearly a factor of 3. So it makes sense to get excited by less than a single percent now.

The reason anybody from the Apple camp is even talking about benchmarks is because that's what Android users continually tout as being some sort of factor. Now when an Apple device has good benchmarks it's all "nah that doesn't matter".

Well, it doesn't matter, either way. What matters is the function of the operating system, and iOS is clearly superior in the utilization of the hardware. My iPhone is just as snappy as when I first got it, and just as snappy as my friends brand new Galaxy S3, despite inferior hardware.

This is an argument that many Windows Phone users have brought up, and its really not a matter of cores or ghz atm, because apple and microsoft created their OS to use deep hardware acceleration to get a maximum experience at a cheaper price point with better battery life. If you look at the Galaxy S3, it has a 4 core processor but its benchmark is still below the dual core iphone5 processor. Google did not build android as successfully as MS or Apple when it comes to this, and some of the android engineers have admitted this.
