i was setting up my new 4K tv yesterday and i was flipping through some channels when i noticed mike rowe on cnn. mike rowe on cnn now has a show apparently about the value of work and the value of trade work as opposed to getting a college education. and rowe of course is just a down to earth kind of guy.
maybe, just maybe, we'll stop this boomer mentality of college is the end all, and instead return to trade schools. i mean maybe not mike rowe in particular will cause this but it's a general thing that will organically happen as we all realize we've got so much college debt, and for what? i think that a trade school should be able to teach you computer programming by the way (which is my job, which is upper middle class) and you don't need to go to get a bachelor degree to do it, i'm not talking about just truck drivers and shit. i think a lot of jobs would be fine with someone with basically real world experience working on things then comes into the field as opposed to no experience but hey, i took some philosophy classes and got drunk most days out of the week for 4 years.
