that's because the nature of warfare is different. mechanized doctrine plus superior firepower doctrine means you don't need to totally decimate the infrastructure of a nation. the goal is no longer to pummel them into submission, it is to take out what needs to be taken out and capture what can be captured.
but apparently that means wars cannot be compared, even though indy would be the first one to compare vietnam to iraq.

This whole forum should have stopped taking Indy seriously re: foreign policy when he read an article about how Pakistan isn't a real ally and proclaimed that the Pentagon and White House were unaware of Pakistan's treachery....which he just read about in a published article.

i don't see how you can say that. if this was even 100 years ago there would be mass executions carried out by the US in iraq and hundreds of thousands placed in camps or held hostage in their village.
