Constitutional vs employer rights

This doesn't just come down to what he said... Much of it is the NBA-Owners Contract... Sterling entered an agreement, he entered that contract that says if 3/4 of the other owners vote him out, he's got to go... In the past he had vetoed or OK'ed other owners coming into the NBA, or leaving(selling their teams to someone else).. He himself willingly entered that agreement, and participated in it..

He's out, and again no court will say otherwise..

But he does seem like the type of guy who will want to drag this out, so expect him to fight this.. It's gonna be a mess.

When this story 1st broke I heard a lot of people, including the Mavs owner Mark Cuban say they thought Sterling's Constitutional rights of freedom of speech, and right to privacy had been violated..

I'm no lawyer, far from it, but I don't see how what happened violated either. This woman might have violated some California laws, but not the constitution.. The constitution protects us citizens from the government, not from other private citizens. The government wasn't involved in this at all..

Sterling and California might have a case against her(if she violated Cali. laws), but IMO his right to privacy and FoS wasn't violated so I don't see how they can be used in his suit against the NBA(if there is one)..

Recording peiple without informing them first is a big no no in some states.

People are still talking about this like he's an employee being fired. This is not accurate. He is the owner of an NBA franchise and that comes with a very different set of standards and procedures that an employee-employer relationship. This is more of an expulsion from an elite organization than termination from a position of employment.

For me, at least, the "employee" reference is more of a label. It's just easier to call him that than a francisee. Though, not nearly as accurate.
