I've basically instituted a points system for this restaurant. Go a certain number of days without mistakes and complaints, earn points. Show exceptional care in an order or towards a customer, earn points. Cover a persons shift or come in to work during an unexpected rush, earn points. These points can be used to book time off during busy periods, towards staff outings, towards free food etc. It's starting to work already because summer time is coming and these girls will want to hit the beach on long weekends, go to concerts, etc. This flexibility is really valuable to them.
The best part is that this costs the store next to nothing. Most of these incentives already exist, but haven't been incorporated into that store, or made clear to the staff.
