the people will not vote themselves out of power in direct democracy if they make some horrible mistake, but they can vote out individuals. the people are not accountable for their actions, in other words, even when they f**k up. which they will do, repeatedly.
making unpopular decisions sometimes needs to happen. with direct democracy it CAN'T HAPPEN
