Obama makes bold climate initiative; GOP goes postal

There are 2 reasons why i feel that this issue gets no where with the general public


1. It's not sexy. As josh lyman would say on the West Wing "show a little leg". The avg person doesn't give a damn about glacier caps and CO2 levels.


2. There's an 800 pound gorilla in the room; the avg voter is old, and they don't give a damn about your future lol. They say the do.. they really don't.


I think in the next 20-30 years this is one of those things that will right itself; like marijuana legalization.. partly because we won't have a choice, but I believe the younger generations are more environmentally aware.

I think voters over the age of 50, for the most part.. really just don't care. "Well i'm not going to be around in 30 years most likely, we're getting smarter every year i'm sure someone will come out with something that will fix all of it" seems to be the mindset.

You know what else is funny? Who's not treating this as a joke. That would include: the U.S. military, NASA, the insurance industry, the city of Miami...

We Americans love to ignore warning signs, then catastrophes happen and the answer is always the same: "nobody could have imagined!"

Sound familiar? It's what we said after 9/11. After 2008. Yeah, nobody had any warning. Pfft.

We've had warnings for decades.

But somehow we're told that it's more plausible that a group of scientists worldwide, who've spent their whole life studying and being educated in their fields, have decided to literally abandon all that, to throw it all away, to participate in a "hoax" orchestrated by Al Gore and the Democrat [sic] party in one country. Just because.

Ya know. The Green movement used to have a kick ass grass-roots system when I was a tyke. Everything from planting trees, to cleaning up nature trails, to buying land in the Rain Forest.

where'd it go?
Is it still around?
Seems like the Green Movement peaked in 1990.
