asfor the OP, punishment is the only way to treat them like a human, meaning, respecting their choices. in a punishment system, you are held responsible for your actions (your actions are respected). in therapy, the goal is to prevent harm not to place responsibility. meaning it's more important to stop them from doing it in the future then to hold them responsible for what they have done. in other words, it doesn't hold anyone responsible for anything, so you're treating them like a puppy not a human. and what happens when you don't put their nose in it? yeah. they do it again.
the whole jail for everything that wedo is not good, but punishment is necessary. i'm a fan of whipping them bloody instead for petty crimes, as well as public stock humiliation. jail and death reserved for the heinous ones. note: jail (responsibility for your choice) is not dehumanizing, treatment (which does not respect their choices anddoes not hold them responsible) on the other hand, is
