I doubt Hillary would have been much different from Obama, meaning a plan that is majority spending cuts with modest tax increases would have been agreed to. Compare that to huntsman and the rest of the GOP who don't care how small the tax increase is or how massive the spending cuts are, you just have to give them a plan that is 100% what they want and 0% any concessions or they'll obstruct. This kind of extremism is far more dangerous than pandering to fundies about gay marriage.
