There's nothing wrong with renting for awhile.. It's a hell of a lot better than buying a house you can't afford.
Here in NY since the crash there's a ton of places to rent, including houses, nice houses. I understand wanting your own house, but damn a 20-30 year mortgage is f'ing long, long term.. Got to make sure you can handle it..
