School vouchers - bad idea?

School vouchers promote a two-tier education system.

If private schools perform better, the goal should be to raise public schools to that level, not allow a parent to stop paying taxes towards them because they happen to be able to afford a better alternative.

So not only would you be taking funding away from public schools, making them worse, but you'd be supporting the idea that a wealthy family should be able to have access to better education than a poor one.

That seems like an issue with dept of child services, not the school.

the school started the entire thing, and i doubt DCS found out about it on their own.

they were going to suspend him until the story blew up, then they backed off. someone at the school likely told DCS about it, which isn't at all uncommon if a do-gooder thinks there is a problem at home.

they didn't just examine a complaint and determine it wasn't a problem.
