Maybe because I'm an old fvck and seen this before I really don't care that much about the equipment..
Before we left we trained the South Vietnamese Army, and equipped it.. 10 years of war and 50,000 dead American soldiers was enough, so we got out.. But that training and equipment wasn't enough, and SV fell, and when they fell tons and tons of US equipment fell into the North's hands..
Same here.. 10 years and thousands dead was long enough.. We trained the Iraqis, armed them, but it wasn't enough.
I understand the point about the equipment, but IMO keeping troops there, having them die weekly to protect equipment and prop up an Iraqi Army that doesn't seem to want to fight for their own freedom and democracy... Fvck em..

If Iraq bought those armaments from us, I don't care if they were lost/stolen/etc. But, somehow, I don't think we've been paid for them.
