Lol you guys are clueless. USA healthcare is shit generally, even if you have good insurance.
1. Americans are not twice as unhealthy as other developed citizens. The French drink during pregnancy, eat fatty cheeses and meats, and smoke all day. The British are a bit more civil but not by much. Both countries destroy America in healthcare ratings.
2. It's absurd how much basic shit costs. What the hell is a doctor possibly doing that would result in a broken bone costing 20k to fix? Ultimately when government isn't heavily involved in healthcare, it's left to the market. But that market always fails because what you can charge for healthcare is always well above what it actually costs to provide.
3. It's mind boggling that we have people who literally can't afford basic healthcare. I was at a dinner two weeks ago and one of the Americans in attendance passed on steaks and desserts because she had a toothache she couldn't afford to get fixed. All the Brits at the table were stunned to the point of awkwardness. Personally, I'm embarrassed when I spend an hour telling everyone how awesome America is, and then someone shows up and can't eat because they can't afford what is a basic right in every other developed country.
4. I'm not sure why you think "quality" is so great. I never see Europeans coming to America to get procedures done or for better healthcare. I always hear Americans talk about going to x country or y country for some operation. It's a complete lie, and I say this as a jingoistic nationalist. Have some f**k pride. America should be the best, no stick it's head in the sand, ignore reality, and pretend we are still awesome.
DON'T BE A TOUGH GUY. DON'T BE A FOOL! I WILL CALL YOU LATER.
