I haven't seen any evidence of corruption at the IRS so far.
It's pretty obvious what the GOP is doing here: They want the donor money to keep flowing, whether it's legal or not, so they are doing everything they can to stop the IRS from interfering. Since they don't have the votes to change the law, they are instead trying to scare the IRS into remaining passive. It will probably work too, which is the really sad part.
