The mandate will eventually go the way of the dinosaur and we will be left with a Medicare like program for all. Once we get everyone covered then it's just a matter of time before the system is refined and improved to the point where we have a government provider that covers everyone.

Prof didn't we decide long ago (at least I think it was you) that a hybrid system would be ideal?

In other words, you'd have health care for everyone--guaranteed--financed by the gov't but if you wanted an upgrade or something like that you could buy supplemental insurance?

Well Saz I was pretty anti-Obamacare when it first got cooked up because I felt it was merely a gift to the insurance industry (and it kind of is) but if that's what it takes to get started, then so be it.

I wonder if all these scandals and non-stop investigations might have something to do with the fact that OMG it's actually working as advertised--albeit with many kinks still to be worked out. I remember when the website was crashing the GOP was all over it and--yes, wait for it--having hearings but then magically when it started working they stopped bringing it up anymore (Obamacare). Except how they hate it ideologically.

So here we are back to Benghazi and the IRS and all the Greatest Hits from 2013 to be followed I'm sure by the Bergdahzi hearings.

For all Obama's shortcomings, he did do this and the GOP alternative was... do nothing.
