War isn't fun. Soccer is war. Hockey is war. Football is war. The goal is to win, and f**k all the rest. If you can get away with breaking the rules, do it. It is part of the game, and any really good team knows when to get down and dirty.

Baseball is a well-paid past-time for overweight alcoholics who want to be called athletes without actually having to do much of anything. So of course a person used to that would look at the battlefield called "the pitch" and whine about flopping and diving. The perspectives are totally different.
