I think this is a really problematic ruling, since it puts the religious beliefs of a few owners over the legal rights of thousands of employees. It's not hard to imagine just how badly that could go, if you consider some of the arcane rules of the main religions.
The obvious followup will be for one of these companies to sue over workplace non-discrimination laws, and argue that their sincerely held beliefs require them to discriminate against women/homosexuals/atheists/blacks/heretics etc. And if the conservative justices are consistent, they would have to rule in favor of such a lawsuit.

There is already legal framework protecting those groups from discrimination. They'd have to first overturn that before they could start legalizing discrimination...

A different question I have for this ruling. How do the conservative judges justify that this ruling only applies to contraception, and not to other medical procedures that religious people might object to ? That doesnt seem very principled to me, it seems like the five conservative judges made a ruling to "respect an establishment of religion", because that religion happens to be their own.
