what about religious war by proxy like the western assault on Jerusalem?

see you guys want to act like everything they do is religious and evil, but that nothing we do is religious or evil

the truth is religion serves the same purpose in any culture and that is as a tool of cultural assimilation.

It's proof that you have the same cosmological and other belief systems as the rest of society and therefore cultural homogeneity

no one really believes any of those myths, but they all agree they are true because it signals social unity. that is why religion often posits things that are essentially impossible and everyone agrees that they are true anyway.

this holds true for all religions and all cultures
