Why is abortion such an issue in the USA?

Yeah, the way we do things now, abortion is a good thing.

Ideally we'd have a society where that wasn't the case. If the average person had a guaranteed minimum income, access to decent schooling, health care, adoption and social services, etc. most of the social ills that make it a good idea wouldn't exist.

I hope one day that I can look down at women who abort without feeling like an asshole.

Sorry that you don't like risqué humor but you're doing this thing you always do where you cite a few anecdotal instances where you see people making jokes about abortion and then assume that means most people who get abortions think it's funny or something. If you wanna make a claim back it up with proof, not with a story about your coworkers.

what i find more hilarious about this whole thing is you complain about taxes and social welfare yet you want tens of millions of unwanted and burdensome children to enter the world. and since the number one reason for abortion is financial it would be tens of millions of kids on public assistance with parents that resent them. that's truly disturbing.
