it's not an appeal to authority when the groups being appealed to are the groups that decide what is and is not the case in palestine. if we're discussing the legality of abortion and i cite roe v wade it's not an appeal to authority because the supreme court is responsible for the legality or illegality of abortion. of we're discussing my friends favorite type of apple and i use his own words you can't claim i'm making a logical fallacy when it's my friend who decides what apples he likes.
in other words, appeal to authority is an informal fallacy that you can't just apply any time anyone cites something from someone and you disagree with it.
