I clearly thought you were calling what was in your pic flash-bangs. Maybe I missed your attempt at humor since I never claimed that Israel was using flash-bangs or that one of their uses was illumination. Using white phosphorus as illumination and smoke screening is not illegal.

It wasn't used as illumination, it was used for its incendiary effects to shell hospitals and UN warehouses. At least that is what the Human Rights Watch and UN concluded based on evidence more substantial than" Israel says."

No smartly ran military is going to have ground troops "danger-close" to where they are dropping bombs, so it shouldn't surprise you that Israeli troops weren't near the explosions.
