Hamas has no interest in peace and their leadership is why it's hard to support Palestine outright in this conflict. Their answer to everything is rockets, then when Israel does the obvious after they've had enough of those rockets, Hamas tries to be a victim.

Hamas is always lobbing rockets and Israel is always building more settlements. I thought you guys were all about moving past this history stuff.

Nobody being willing to budge on crucial things is why this conflict is muddled. The settlements need to stop and Hamas needs to stop pestering and murdering the settlers that are already there. As Non pointed out, Israel forcibly removed their own people from Palestinian areas only to have Hamas takeover a year later and immediately bomb them. It's a stupid, dumb cycle.

but why does israel need to continue the settlement policy at all?

you keep acting like it's somehow tied to hamas. it isn't. it's an independent strategy developed to destroy palestine as a place and a people and it always has been.

I literally just said the settlement policy is bad. It does encroach on Palestinian borders and Israel should do more to prevent it. Hamas' reaction to Israel's removal of a good portion of settlers in Gaza was to bomb Israel....so, I am in no hurry to rush to anyone's side here.

I didn't say the settlements themselves were a cycle, I said the entire conflict is. Tell me again who's glancing over whose arguments here.
