It's only "disproportional" because Hamas is apparently bad at killing people these days. It does not change the fact that Hamas fired 100 rockets into Israel. When you look at it that way, Israel's response makes a lot more sense. Everyone starts by criticizing Israel and for dubious reasons. Both sides have killed civilians, both have done asinine things, yet Israel gets all the scorn and people go out of their way to justify Palestinian actions. Makes no sense to me. The argument for most Palestinian supporters in the west boils down to "well, the Israelis do it too and they are occupiers." You're basically defending suicide bombings and rocket attacks because Israel bombs Gaza here and there. Don't bother. I hope for a 2 state solution, but I'm not about to stick my neck out to outright defend either side. In general though, any nation should have a right to respond if another nation lobs 100 bombs into their borders over a six hour period, kill count during that time notwithstanding.
