it seems to me the only parties who benefit from continued violence are the leadership of both sides
so until the regular people on both sides see what is going on and do something to put an end to it it's going to continue

Bill, the Palestinians aren't stupid. Israel has settled a hundred thousand more people in it's territory since 2004. They are fully aware that this will continue until Palestine consists entirely of the world's largest open air prison (Gaza) and a twelve foot square section of beach (West Bank). In the meantime, the inhabitants will have their homes bulldozed, and they'll either be driven into a refugee camp somewhere or they'll find a way to get into Gaza, already probably the densest city on earth.

No one is doubting there are bigger forces involved in the ME.. BUT those forces aren't just in the evil West. The Arabs hands aren't clean.. During the Cold War the USSR's hands were dirty as hell..
