I have smart friends who lean conservative thst I can have conversations with. The ones that find there way here tend to be pretty simple minded, for whatever reason.

Not true. Ameriman was a shining example of a conservative that would come on here, spout his opinion intertwined with derisive commentary aimed at the opposite political party, and then expect some modicum of manners in response.
Most online conservatives model themselves off radio and television personalities typically due to that being their primary source of information.
