On the topic of the digital age SJW, the left needs vanquish such nonsense. We've diluted our priorities as progressives because there is such high demand for weekly outrage over something that was SAID. Existential injustices are constantly on the backburner as we shove each other aside to bravely denounce somebody's comments.
This week it's Tony Dungy. He said drafting an openly gay player to an NFL team would be too much of a distraction. With all the things going on in society that are actually causing people harm, somehow a former football coach's passing comment on drafting a gay player takes priority.
To me, it comes across as very insecure when people have to highlight anything even remotely racist/sexist/homophobic (and btw Dungy didn't say anything homophobic, just acknowledged the reality that someone like Michael Sam attracts a media circus for non-football reasons) and denounce it over and over. I detest bigotry and I don't need to showcase it every time someone makes a comment that offends certain groups. I am confident enough that my actions and reputation speak for themselves, and my opposition to any bigoted sentiment goes without saying.
go ahead. keep screaming "Shut The f**k Up " at me. it only makes my opinions Worse
