That's all true and it's an unfortunate situation when civilians are getting hurt or killed. But trying to convince Israel and the world is a slow process that probably won't work.
What can be done to save lives now? That's got to be the objective. Instead the objective is the same on both sides, ie "get what you want using the lives of the Palestinian civilians as bargaining chips".
I understand that the militants will stay and fight to the end but can we not at least move the women and children to the US? I'm sure there are plenty of men who don't want to fight either, as well.
That seems the most reasonable course of action to me.
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
