well in this case he would only know he would probably be sued because he was having an improper sexual relationship with one of the principles of a trial he was presiding over and she received a better deal because the judge wasn't impartial at all.
So in practical terms maintaining an impartial judiciary isn't happened with judicial immunity at all. Instead we are retaining incompetent wrongdoers at a high level. This guy isn't mature enough to be high school teacher, much less a judge.

i think if they can be shown to profit from a decision or if they have personal relationships with a litigant it should be that they then open themselves up to being sued

The law is the law. We are either a nation of laws or we aren't . We can change laws, but this whiney way we often complain....the heightened or feigned outrage...who actually is comfortable with this? It's like everyone is now an outrageous shock.talk radio host, or a windbag on a cable news show
