So let me get this straight: the NRA is about "educating" people on firearms.
I see. So, part of educating people on firearms would be educating them on how dangerous they are to children in a household, unsecured. So why would they oppose a doctor providing that education? The pool analogy stands as well--so asking people if they have a pool when they have children they have no problem with, but if it's guns--OMG SECOND AMENDMENT VIOLATION!!!!
If they were about "education" SURELY they would want everybody on-board with teaching parents the dangers of guns in the home--they would SPONSOR/encourage this kind of thing. But no, instead we get: the slippery slope/conspiracy theory--that somehow this would be part of the "anti-gun" agenda and of course some kind of record would be kept that would be used for tyrannical purposes, etc. So in other words, only THEY should be allowed to talk about this because if doctors do... wait for it... here comes another conspiracy theory.
LOL at that on its face.
Second, the "expansion" of gun rights? How in the hell do gun rights need to be "expanded" here? It's already a free-for-all and we need to further EXPAND gun rights? To what exactly?
Lastly, gun deaths are a massive problem in this country and yet this "rights" group stifles all attempts by gov't funded agencies to study them. Hmm I wonder if a group attempted to stifle all attempts to do a study on auto crashes--how much public support that would receive?
No, as long as the only narrative allowed is guns are great and this is liberty at work and the only solution is more guns, the NRA is staunchly opposed.
Only allowing one narrative is not freedom of speech, bro.
Question: why isn't the Pool-Sellers Lobby of America trying to gag doctors from asking about pools then? Oh wait, they haven't cooked up some conspiracy theory.
