So, why is the US the only country doing anything about this? Or, am I just not hearing about all the "humanitarian air strikes" that the French are making?

Aside from spider's love of bombing brown people and exploited's justice boner (which I weirdly want to know more about) can anyone explain how bombing Isis is in America's interest? Leave out whatever about how terrible they are and focus on how bombing them is actually in our national interest, then we'll have a dialogue that might lead me to consider supporting this action.
