OK, quick question, non. How often do the police name someone who was involved in a crime before they are arrested, or before it's even determined that a crime was committed?
I see a lot of people getting upset that the officer wasn't named. But, do police departments regularly public names of people who haven't been arrested, or publish names if it hasn't even been determined if a crime took place?
I'm just thinking about this. This morning, there was a list of DWI arrests in my local paper. These people were arrested. But, what if they published a list of everyone who was stopped at the DWI checkpoint, under the headline, "These people may or may not have committed the crime of DWI!!" That'd be effed up!
