Is there any evidence that balancing the demographics leads to better results? I presume some cities have implemented something like this - is there any literature that demonstrates better relations?

I mean it makes sense intuitively, but I'm just curious.

Put it this way, if the force is racially balanced you can't say it's racism any more.

If it's not racism, what is it? Rioting etc is not normal behavior, something is causing it.

I propose that the police have been f**k with this community for years, because of racism. Then finally they shot some kid for no reason and the community has had enough.

Is that a pretty good summation of what happened? I think it is. Solution: Get some people who live in the area on the force, so they will look at the population as people, not criminals.

We don't actually know what happened do we? I was under the impression that there was a serious lack of information about the shooting being released.
