It really depends upon the situation, as far as character. In this case I agree as it is a matter only of law and enforcement of law. However, in cases where character is brought in on one side, correcting it on the other side isn't out of line. In a world that runs by court of public opinion, if you let someone get officially designated as "victim", the other person becomes guilty by default.

The other day everyone was in here fussing about how this guy robbed the store and someone even said "one less thug on the streets" of his death. But now that it seems he did not commit a robbery "oh well whether or not he robbed the store really doesn't matter". Unbelievable.

I got a better idea. And, being fairly serious.

Make cops wear cameras. Also, make every convicted felon (perhaps even some misdemeanors, though I'm not up on classifications of crimes) wear one that sends a constant stream to the PD for the duration of their probation/parole/etc. And, make them pay for it.

If law ENFORCEMENT has to wear them, then law BREAKERS should have to wear them.

Ok. I'm not in favor of making anyone wear a camera at all times. The cops should only wear them while they are on duty.
