It has nothing to do with who has the most beautiful natural wonders (though I would argue in favor of the lakes region or the Swiss alps over anything in the US). It's more about engaging with other cultures and experiencing travelling in a foreign country. For me at least. Not to be a douche but it's somewhat hard to explain to somebody who hasn't done it.
it's totally fine to have different opinions btw. I don't think it's surprising to find out we have very different values.
I've driven across the US a few times. Some incredible views. But at the end of the day it really posed none of the challenged or unique experiences travelling in a foreign country does. Sorry this makes you and jim jims so sensitive and insecure but that's the reality as i see it.
