Is this the point where I get to laugh at you for believing that what you think of as proportion is anything but? The definition you guys are lauding is so vague its absurd. Its nothing to do with proportion at all and everything to do with convincing a side not to steam roll the other. Just a hint...thats not proportion. And the fact that they had to make such an absurd definition to try and confine it just to war...? Well, this is the part where I laugh.

the reality of jewish conquest is a little less dramatic than what is portrayed by believers in various religious doctrines. Any conquering they may have done was over tribes of goat herders and other hill people as a motley collection of brigands, rebels and other outcasts that eventually coalesced into a minor society of a few city states. Basically they were a vassal state, first to the Egyptians, then the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans. The Romans literally destroyed Israel in response to the Bar Kochba rebellions.
