No doubt some want to come back because they are disillusioned, instead of fighting Assad they are now fighting other rebel groups.. But I wouldn't doubt another reason is the stupidity of ISIS with these beheadings and basically pulling the tiger's tail.. Now ISIS pretty much has a HUGE bulls-eye on it's back, and not just because of the US..

These guys thought they were fighting for a cause, now thanks to ISIS's idiotic grandstanding they find themselves fighting the world.. It's a death sentence.

if they don't want to fight and you let them return it simply bolsters the case for western civilization and shows we are better.

if we refuse they will become further radicalized and will have nothing to lose

consider that, this shouldn't be about ego but rather cessation of violence
