the most hilarious part about aaron's post is that apple has the highest profit margins of any of those companies and he holds them in esteem like they are doing things for the betterment of mankind and not for money. and he seriously believes it.

yeah google makes money but it gives things away. why? because it's not in the cell phone making business, it's in the advertising business. so it gives away stuff so it can advertise better. it's making cars that will drive you, and will (in all likelihood) give that all away too. why? because they want you browsing the internet instead of driving.

apple just wants you to buy their shit. this is why they have these revival masses where people get into a frenzy to BUY stuff.

google isn't even selling it.

they give the thing away.

$300+ for a watch is more expensive than a phone itself on contract. I dont think id like to pay that much right now when there isn't much innovation for it atm. I actually think these watches wont be as popular since they all do the same thing.

I liked today that someone made a N64 007 goldeneye screen for the Asus watch. Anyways, too soon for watches, I think they'll flop. Tablet sales are way down from before too.

Nothing at all innovative about being late to the market with a product that already exists under a half dozen different brands. Will it outsell them? Almost certainly. But sales is not innovation.

Its just one more thing to remember to plug in and charge, that does nothing at all that the phone you've already got in hand doesn't do better. It'll probably sell well, as the usual glossy eyed zombies will turn up to mindlessly throw fistfuls of money at Cupertino. Its pretty, and gimmicky, and that's good enough.

Wearable tech will really matter in the future. But not like this. This is just another fashion accessory.

I dig the larger iphone though.
