Well isn't that a smart play though? Because that's exactly what they (and AQ) want to portray it as.

The more this goes on the more I think this is only going to end when other Muslims decide they've had enough of this cancer and root it out themselves. Because while it may be fun to hate the west, when ISIS takes over Muslim areas people suffer the same enslavement and oppression and barbarism that non-Muslims do. They'll be next. And they need to realize that.

To everyone who is so worked up about how everything falls along party lines: here you go. Party doesn't matter when we're talking about perpetual interventionism in the Middle East. Those who are for it are for it regardless of who the president is. Or who the bad guy over there is. We're now at warp speed. Used to be like a decade or so until the guys we support became the bad guys. Now we're arming the same people we wanted to kill last year so they can kill the people we wanted to arm last year.

With Reagan we had Beirut, Bush I we had Desert Storm, Clinton nada, Bush II Iraq and now Obama Syria/Iraq Redux, etc. Right?

OK, I have a plan.

1. Build 1000 to 2000 nuclear power plants.

2. Drill, Baby, drill.

3. Convert coal to oil. Use the new technique devised by UTA.

4. Frack our asses off.

We would be energy independent.

Sell our LNG and oil to Europe at a cut rate. Cut the pipelines from Russia.

Then with most our forces back at home, training and refitting, we can target the oil infrastructure of any country in the middle east that gives us trouble. Hitting a country's bank account is way more effective than killing their people to get their attention.

I'm opposed to fracking until it is better understood, but I'm fully on board with nuclear power, assuming we are going to be building modern plants.

Yeah I think nuclear energy should be part of energy independence. It can be done in a much safer way now than in decades past.

Yes I am too but from what I understand they're insanely expensive to build so before you get to excited think of where the money is going to come from.

Fracking though is really starting to worry me.
