Religious Freedom: Beards in Prison

Even though I have no problem with ol'boy rockin his beard, i don't see how he's being prevented from practicing his faith by having to conform to the prison's grooming standards.

True, but he can still pray to Mecca five times a day, and read his Koran. As a convicted felon in hincarnation, he is entitled to certain basic human rights, facial hair that violates hygiene and safety regulations, are far from those rights. Either way, it will be interesting to see how the court comes down on this issue.

i imagine they will uphold his religious freedom, after all it is the law. Those regs are bullshit they came up with to f**k with members of an unpopular religion. There are no real health or safety issues associated with having a beard.

aren't you concerned with preserving his liberties? our legal system is totally corrupt so saying he is a felon doesn't hold much weight.

Well, he's a felon because he slit his girlfriends throat and stabbed her in the chest. But yeah, a beard doesn't seem to be a real security threat, so I don't see an issue.
