Who is worse? ISIS or Drug Cartels

Drug cartels are all about money, they're a business.. And in Mexico they kill soldiers, Judges, cops, just about anyone who gets in their way.. Here on this side of the border they don't kill Judges, cops, soldiers, etc. because they know doing that would put them out of business in a matter of months. As brutal as they are they're a business, and they know killing Americans here would put them out of business.

ISIS is not a business, they really don't have anything to lose. Most religions, including Islam teach you will be rewarded AFTER you die..IMO that makes them more dangerous.

Both really terrible. Both could be easily destroyed by making sensible policy changes and committing to actually helping the poor.

Beyond that, comparing them is useless.

My point is that both are capable of tremendous brutality, but that they exist in large part due to incredibly destructive Western policy decisions. The West isn't entirely to blame for ISIS or the Cartels, but certainly it has a great deal of culpability.

All of this could have been avoided had we decided not to act like retards. End the War on Drugs, you've destroyed the cartels. End our arrogant and destructive Middle Eastern policy, and you've largely destroyed Islamic extremism, which is desirable to no one under the proper circumstances, but exists as a means of unifying against a much greater enemy. You won't see an end to all gangsterism or all religous extremism, but you'll remove the factors that amplify these behaviours, and makes them acceptable outside a small group of psychopaths. After all, when faced with an overwhelming enemy, it is human nature to make friends with all those who oppose that enemy, even if your new friends are themselves insane.

Yes, but remember how influential cartels are on governments and police. They have taken over entire areas where military and police dont even go. I think a good argument could be made that ISIS has ghengis khan'd their way to an Islamic state, but the cartels are currently operating a puppet state through violence, bribary and influence.

I think an even better argument could be made that we've lost more Americans in border disputes with cartels than we have to the hands of ISIS. Makes you wonder who we should possibly be at war with atm and which side is actually more dangerous to Americans and American soil.

I would say isis is worse. Why? Just by changing/updating our laws could put cartels out of business almost over night. Isis will probably require a military operation that could last years.
