again dude, i destroyed your argument in the other thread just as im destroying you now. you know it's not the same as interracial marriage because they were denied to do X whereas here, everyone is denied Y and can do X. the fact is X != Y no matter how much you say it is. it's like trannies claiming they are the opposite sex of what they actually are, it's delusional and denying reality, in their case from severe brain disorder, and trained medical professionals actually then go ahead and actually help them act out their delusions. it's a f**k up world we live in where up is down black is white and long is short to some people. i am just trying to keep some sanity about things

Most of Galt's post is too weird and off-topic to bother responding to, but it's worth noting in the future that transgender folks are so named because it's their gender not their sexuality that they feel is wrong. And not that you'd care, but I've had many transgender friends who were quite entirely sane, who nonetheless felt turmoil about being uncomfortable in their own body until they became transgender. It's not a mental disorder, it's an aspect of identity.

Marriage is still just as much of a contract with associated tax and economic benefits between two people that love each other as it ever was. This has not changed and will not change because people of the same sex are allowed to marry. It's not like people will suddenly become confused as to what a marriage is because gay people are allowed to marry. It's still pretty clearly the same goddamned thing.

^Ya...that idea that other peoples' marriages would be somehow under attack because a discreet third party that has nothing to do with them also gets married has always struck me as a bizarre logical inversion. But its pretty mainstream, apparent. Thus the "Defense of Marriage" Act etc etc.
