virulence and transmissibility are generally invertedly related, as is the case here. each new ebola case is causing 1.5 cases, while each measles case would cause 10 new measles cases. while true it's gotten out of hand, getting the number below 1 (and thus causing an end to the epidemic) can be done easier than with a more transmissible disease
so will it cause a plague? no
will it kill millions? no. thousands, yes. but i doubt even tens of thousands
