he was great but never was able to win a super bowl. he got the team to the playoffs most of the time but then he also couldn't seal the deal.*
*also in his last game he lost 62-7 against jacksonville in the playoffs.

Yeah if something is shown plainly in your stats/records like the fact that you never won a super bowl then you don't need an asterisk.
