Humans are difficult to domesticate.
We all know how the domestication of an animal species happens.
Select the docile ones, get rid of the rowdy ones.
Suppress the rebellious instinct, and encourage conformity.
Make it impossible or difficult for the species to survive in the wild.
Harness the instrinsic value of the species.
Humans are difficult to domesticate, because nowadays, we have "hot mugshot guys". That's not doing anything to speed up the domestication process.
We're doing a great job of suppressing the rebellious instinct, at least in some areas of the world. It's definitely not working out too well in Iraq or Syria at the moment. Venezuela's f**k too. North Korea is f**k, but fully domesticated. Only America can boast a similar incarceration rate.
We definitely can't survive in the wild. Though McDonalds is almost everywhere, it's not in the wild. I've heard there aren't too many Wal Marts there either. Or Wal Mart/McDonalds combos.
Harnessing the instrinsic value of the species can be difficult. We've gotten pretty good at making machines. We've been to space. That's not too bad.
