Why are Ferguson protesters so stupid?

Then educate me - but I need details. How long is the average grand jury? How exhaustive is the evidence gathering? Even if they are more common than I thought, I am almost certain that they nearly never involve getting every perspective and every detail to present such a full and thorough picture to the grand jury.

"A run-of-the-mill felony might require less than a day, but McCulloch said the Brown/Wilson proceeding would take several weeks, and it has. He was quoted in the Wall Street Journal saying, “Absolutely everything will be presented to the grand jury. Every scrap of paper that we have. Every photograph that was taken."

This is what I thought. Normally when there's a grand jury it's "here's what we think the suspect did and here's the dirt we have on him. You in?"

In this case they brought in all the stuff that should be the responsibility of Wilsons defense lawyer in a trial, but instead the prosecutor did the defenders job for him. Maybe it should happen like this more often, but we all know it doesn't, so again, Wilson received special treatment from the criminal justice system because he's a cop.

Now imagine the prosecutor brought this to a judge instead and the judge found that there was not probable cause to file murder charges.

Think about the consequences of this, and then ask yourself if a grand jury was perhaps the safer move.

also, philly, no one can indict without a grand jury as that's part of the definition of what an indictment is

You can charge and prosecute without a grand jury but prof may be right about specific state and county statutes.
