somewhat off topic, but is anyone getting really mad at the methods of protest for garner in NYC? march in the streets and disrupt the NYPD? nah. f**k with other city workers on the job, people working as santa for the holidays, etc and then shaming them when they don't join in for fear of losing their job? yeah let's do that one. also, let's attack christmas apparently. that'll get peoples attention and bring them to our side, when we start yelling at their kids in public about how bad christmas is.

this mentality that if you aren't now marching 24/7 you are ignorant and condone what the police do. it's so f**k ridiculous.

The district attorney in this case was clearly trying to avoid an indictment.

I'm not even a lawyer, and I could have gotten an indictment in this case in about 15 minutes. All you need to do is show the video tape, show the coroner report saying the cause of death is homicide, and then mention that choke holds have been banned by the police department for 20 years, end of story. This is the very definition of an open and shut case.

Instead the district attorney spent 9 weeks on the grand jury, with 50 witnesses and a 2 hour testimony from the policer officer himself, all in order to cover his own ass and protect his friends in the police department.
