To be fair, Indy, in your last sentence, you say, "put gov't law enforcement to work for YOU, to protect you from the citizens of this country". What happens when the citizens are the ones in the industries that these regulations hurt?
Being in Louisiana, a state VERY dependent upon oil and gas(O&G) industries, but also a state that has lost much coastline and waterways because of these industries, I see both sides. O&G supports something like 50% of all families in southern LA. Their rigs provide hugely popular destinations for sport fishermen. Their canals provide endless opportunities for in-coast fishing. Yet, those same canals have allowed saltwater intrusion into the heart of the marsh, killing much flora and allowing for drastic coastal erosion.
It's not cut-and-dry.
